Autumn colours

Hi and welcome to the latest Jems blog hop! This month’s theme is autumn colours.
I haven’t been able to take part in a hop for a couple of months so I'm glad to be back!

I started this card by doing the background; I used watercolour paper as I knew the paper was going to get quite wet. I used my aqua painters to get the surface damp, then pressing my stamp pads before opening; I used the ink from the lid to add some colour. I used calypso coral, peek-a-boo peach and cherry cobbler (which actually came out looking quite pink!) as my base colours.

I chose to use the seasonal layers thinlits for the die cut elements, as the name suggests there’s designs for all seasons and I just love the leaf dies. I cut out the larger more intricate leaf in fresh fig and calypso coral, and the smaller in fresh fig again and peek-a-boo peach. I stamped the little greeting in cherry cobbler; the greeting is from the tabs for everything stamp set which features lots of little phrases for a variety of uses.

I finally mounted the card front onto a mat of fresh fig and onto a whisper white card base.
A simple but effective design and it would produce a slightly different card each time (which I love – if you’re making something handmade it should have a little variety in my opinion!)

I hope you liked my little card, do keep hopping around to see what our other talented crafters have made!

Before me is Linda’s make and after is Julie's!
